 Cowboys win Challis and Mackay

The Cowboy wrestlers hosted their annual tournament on Friday night March 5th. Wrestlers from North Freemont, Madison, Snake River, Wood River, Salmon and all places in between attended the event.
By the time the evening was through the battle would be for second place while Challis ran away with first . The following day in Mackay the Cowboys would once again leave victorious. The Cowboys not only won the Mackay tournament but did so by beating the Blackfoot club. This victory should not be taken lightly. The Blackfoot club is one of the largest and toughest clubs in the state and the entire region. We salute our Challis Cowboys on a job excellently done.

12 Cowboys Place at State Wrestling
On December 5th wrestlers from across the state of Idaho converged on Rigby High School for the USA State Folk-style Championships.  14 Cowboy's traveled to Rigby to compete.  Our boys wrestled in classic Challis fashion and by the end of the day an incredible 12 Cowboys had placed in the tournament.

Challis Cowboys 2008 State Champs!

Saturday December 6 USA Wrestling held their annual  State Championship wrestling tournament in Post Falls, Idaho.  Seven Challis Cowboy wrestlers attended.  Competition was extremely tough with hundreds of wrestlers in attendance.  The Cowboys really showed them all what Challis wrestling is all about.  Our Cowboys brought home an amazing (4) first place gold medals and (1) second place silver medal.  Way to go Cowboys!

Cowboys celebrate 1st place at the season  opener!

The Challis Cowboys came out of hibernation with a busy weekend.  Challis hosted 8 teams from southeast

Idaho

Friday night for the spring season opener.  Challis came away with

1st Place

.  Saturday they traveled to Mackay where there were more and bigger teams.  All the Cowboys stepped up with team spirit and a never quit attitude.  Each wrestler fought hard through every match.  Challis finished with an amazing 12 champions and many other high placers.  Unfortunately Blackfoot finished with 14 champions, bumping Challis to an impressive 2nd place finish.  The highlight of the weekend was definitely when Challis won the coveted Sportsmanship Award at the Mackay tournament, which was voted on by all the teams in attendance and the tournament staff.  Way to go Cowboys!  You make Challis proud.
